James H. Thomas
79, passed away suddenly on January 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances (nee Markelz) Thomas; two brothers, William (Phyllis) and LeRoy (Pat), aunts and uncles. He was a member of the United States Army from 1954-1957. Jim was one of three owners of Tri-Star Cabinets in which he was an integral part of its success. Survivors include his loving children, Debbie Sefcik, Jim (Diane) Thomas, Steve (Ginny) Thomas, and Michelle (Michael) Thompson. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are Judy Thomas (former wife and dear friend), a step brother Robert (Cheryl) Hubert, and a step sister Rosemary (Robert) Stromberg along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Alzheimers Research would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 3 – 8pm. Funeral Service Thursday, January 11, 2018 with prayers at 10:30 at the funeral home to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
